Questions people ask

Can I take my dog on a vineyard tour?

Usually not on guided tours of the winery, where food safety rules apply, but many vineyards welcome dogs on a lead on their walks, terraces and in the shop. Each entry below says what that vineyard allows.

Are dogs allowed at vineyard cafés and restaurants?

Some allow them on terraces or in the café, and a few in the restaurant. Look for the vineyard’s own wording in each entry, and ring ahead if you are not sure.

Why are some vineyards not dog-friendly?

Livestock, food hygiene rules in wineries and kitchens, and busy tasting rooms are the usual reasons. Assistance dogs are welcome almost everywhere.
