Yorkshire vineyards to visit

England’s most northerly wine county with a real visitor scene: small, mostly family-run vineyards from the Pennine hills to the Wolds, many with a café or a room for the night.

Yorkshire wine in brief

  • The vineyards are spread across the county: Pennine hillsides around Holmfirth, the Vale of York, the edge of Malton and the Wolds of the East Riding.
  • This far north, growers rely on cool-climate grapes such as Solaris, Rondo and Seyval Blanc, alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for sparkling wine.
  • Most open on set days or for booked tours rather than every day, so check dates before you travel.

For a tasting you can book through us, see the cellar door tasting near York. Details checked in October 2026.
