Most of the well-known English estates sell their own gift vouchers. Some are for a set tour, some are a sum of money, and a few vineyards sell both. We read each vineyard’s own voucher page to find out what it covers, how long it lasts and how it reaches you.

Barrels at Chapel Down.
The short answer
If you know what they would enjoy, buy a set experience, such as a tour and tasting for two. If you are not sure, a money voucher leaves the choice to them, and at Rathfinny, Hambledon and Ridgeview it can go on wine as well as a visit. Rathfinny’s and Hattingley Valley’s last two years, and most of the others one. For a present bought late, pick one that comes by email. Chapel Down, Gusbourne, Nyetimber, Denbies, Wiston and Biddenden all let you choose the day it arrives.
Vouchers at the larger estates
These are the estates most people visit. Where a column says “not stated”, the vineyard’s voucher page did not say, so ask before you buy if it matters.
Eighteen set experiences, among them the vineyard train, cellar tastings, brunch, afternoon tea and a night at the vineyard hotel. Money e-vouchers too
£28 for two (the vineyard train) up to £430 for two (a night with dinner)
Tours and tastings at 2026 prices, including a Land Rover safari tour that runs from November to February. A money voucher covers bottles, experiences and dining
Tours £30 to £150 a head; money vouchers from £10
12 months
Email, free. Royal Mail First Class £5.99, or Special Delivery or a named day for £14.50
Rathfinny’s is the one we would give someone whose plans we did not know. It lasts two years, and they can spend it on a tour, lunch, a room or a case of wine. Nyetimber’s visits run on set open days, and the 2026 ones sold out, so treat its card as a wine present that might become a visit.

Smaller vineyards that sell vouchers
These mostly cost less than the larger estates, and several sell a place on a tour for one person, so you can buy for a couple or a group of friends.
Tinwood’s is the cheapest tour voucher here at £21 a head. Biddenden’s costs more, but the tour is private and the voucher lasts 18 months.

Posting dates for Christmas
When we checked on 5 November 2026, none of these vineyards had published a last posting date for Christmas 2026. Two still showed dates from earlier years, which we have left out.
Email takes care of itEvery vineyard in the first table except Balfour sells a voucher by email, and several let you set the day it lands, so it can arrive on Christmas morning.
If you want something to wrapRathfinny, Hambledon, Albourne, Tinwood and Hattingley Valley will post a voucher. Hambledon also offers Special Delivery or a named delivery day for £14.50, which is the safest choice in the last week before Christmas.
Collect it yourselfRathfinny, Albourne and Tinwood let you pick the voucher up at the vineyard. That fits well with a December visit to the cellar door or one of the events in our guide to Christmas at an English vineyard.
Belt and bracesTinwood sends an e-voucher as well as the posted one, so a slow post on its own will not leave you empty-handed.
Through a gift experience retailer
The same visits are sold by gift experience retailers. Their vouchers can usually be swapped for a different experience if the vineyard does not suit, which a vineyard’s own voucher cannot.
Vouchers you can exchange
Tour and tasting at Chapel Down
Tenterden, Kent · From £40 a head
A guided tour of the vineyard and winery with a tutored tasting, at one of England’s biggest producers. Vouchers for a cheese and wine pairing or lunch at The Swan, its restaurant, cost more.
Good to know Chapel Down sends its vouchers by email, so they work as a last-minute present. The retailer vouchers are valid for twelve months; the cheapest covers visits from Sunday to Friday, the others any day.
Near Robertsbridge, East Sussex · From £60 for two
A tour of one of England’s first organic vineyards, a tasting of up to four wines, and a ploughman’s lunch or afternoon tea. About two and a half hours.
Good to know Wednesday to Sunday, May to October only, so a Christmas present waits for spring.
A voucher that works at any of 17 vineyards, including Yotes Court, Woodchurch, Wildshark, Oastbrook, Sedlescombe and Court Garden in the south-east. What is included varies by vineyard, and may be a tasting, lunch, afternoon tea or a tour with the winemaker.
Good to know For someone whose diary or home town you are not sure of.
Set experience or moneyA set tour is easier to wrap and tells them what to book. A money voucher is better when you do not know their taste or their diary, and some, like Rathfinny’s, also pay for wine.
Read what it cannot be spent onGusbourne’s experience vouchers do not buy wine. Balfour’s cannot be used in its online shop or pubs, Ridgeview’s money voucher does not work in its restaurant, and Nyetimber’s card only works online.
Winter tours are thinnerSome smaller vineyards stop running tours over the winter. If they want to go in January, check the vineyard is open first. Our guide to vineyards open in winter helps.
Getting thereA voucher pays for the visit, not the travel. Our guide to vineyards by train from London lists the ones you can reach without a car.
